Approximately 1800 undergraduates from throughout the US and more than 50 countries are enrolled. Lewis and Clark is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges and offers university-level studies leading to bachelor's and master's degrees. This institution has a distinctive international character and has long taken pride in its commitment to enrolling international students. The English program was established in 1972; students enrolled in English courses have represented more than 45 different countries.
Mission
Students who complete the AES program will possess the necessary skills for successful integration into Lewis and Clark undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as those of other universities and businesses. Content-based courses reflect an emphasis on developing a student's ability to meet the cognitive and affective challenges of the academic environment, while developing advanced English language skills.
