Location (about the region)
The spacious, attractive campus is located in McMinnville, a city of 32,000 one hour by car southwest of Portland. From this location in Oregon's famous Willamette Valley one can drive west to the Oregon Coast in about an hour, and east to the Cascade Mountains in about two hours.
Session Length and Program Hours
Linfield operates on a 4-1-4 academic calendar.* The fall semester begins in early September and ends in mid-December. * The optional January term is a four-week session within the month of January. * The spring semester begins in early February and ends in late May or early June. No summer classes are offered at Linfield.
Levels
In its programs on the McMinnville campus, the Portland campus, and the Department of Continuing Education, Linfield College enrolls more than 2,500 students and offers 45 majors and three undergraduate degrees -- Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing. All students are required to complete an inquiry-based general education program, the Linfield Curriculum.

Faculty Qualifications
93% of Linfield faculty members hold the terminal degree, either Ph.D. or MFA, in their fields of expertise.
Credit Courses
Linfield offers the Bachelor's degree (BA, BS, or BSN) in 45 majors. To graduate with a degree, the student must complete 125 credits. The following majors are available:Accounting, Anthropology, Applied Physics, Athletic Training, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Communication Arts, Computer Science, Creative Writing, Economics, Electronic Arts, Elementary Education, English, Environmental Studies, Exercise Science, Finance, French, General Science, German, German Studies, Health Education, History, Intercultural Communication, International Business, Japanese, Mass Communication, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Physical Education, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology, Studio Art, and Theatre Arts.
Housing
* Most of Linfield's 1,700 students live in 17 comfortable residence halls and 8 apartment complexes on campus.* Housing is guaranteed for every admitted student, and all students are required to live on campus until reaching age 21. * When a student has accumulated 62 academic credits he or she has the option of moving into an on-campus apartment. * There are various room arrangements to choose from in either the residence halls or the apartments.
Special Offerings
Linfield offers a variety of opportunities for international study, including semester abroad programs, January Term off-campus courses, and academic year abroad programs. These options all serve as an introduction to the many different places, peoples, and cultures of the world. Students are provided free round-trip airfare from Portland International Airport for their first Linfield-administered program abroad during the academic year.
