About Us
Western Oregon University welcomes international students from all countries. Today's enrollment includes students approximately 13 countries. WOU understands the important role of student/teacher interactions as a part of a rewarding learning experience. Class sizes are kept small to ensure that all students have access to our capable and caring faculty. The International Students & Scholars Affairs staff provide a personal, warm relationship with each applicant and enrolled international student.

Location (about the region)
Western Oregon University's campus is located in the heart of the rolling hills of the Willamette Valley. Students and faculty at WOU enjoy the quiet and relaxed pace of small town life in Monmouth, Oregon. A short drive in any direction will take you to places such as the beautiful Oregon Coast, the metropolitan excitement of Portland, the state capital of Salem or the spectacular Cascade Mountains.
Session Length and Program Hours
Quarter System: Classes begin in late September, early January, late March and late June. Fall, winter and spring quarters are 10-11 weeks long and summer session is 6 weeks long.
Levels
Undergraduate, Graduate and an Intensive English Program (IEP) is available.
Class Size
Average class size is 27 students. Smaller classes are offered at the upper division levels, graduate levels and IEP classes.

Housing
On campus housing is provided in Residence Halls (dormitories). Student life is emphasized through the Leadership and Activities Office, University Residence Hall Councils and Student Government. Special Offerings
Conditional Admission is offered to undergraduate students that meet WOU requirements, but have not taken the TOEFL/IELTS tests or have below a 500 Paper TOEFL/5.0 IELTS.
Conditional Admission is offered to graduate students that meet the university GPA requirement and have between a 500-547 Paper TOEFL/5.0-5.5 IELTS.

Undergraduate 9 months (approximately): Tuition and fees (12 credits) $14,526; Room and Board $7,548; Books, supplies, insurance, personal expenses: $4,881
Graduate 9 months (approximately): Tuition and fees (9 credits) $13,698; Room and Board $7,548; Books, supplies, insurance, personal expenses: $4,881
Admissions
Submit: on-line application (www.wou.edu/student/-admissions/apply); $50 application fee, for express shipping of any admission documents from our office please include an additional $40 for the Courier Service Fee; official transcripts or records of previous school work with an English translation attached; TOEFL official score report from Education Testing Services (ETS) or IELTS test report; Proof of adquate finances for first 12 months of study (Financial Affidavit of Support and Official bank statements from sponsor's, parent's or student's accounts); Copy of passport; Chinese Citizens are asked to submit a copy of their Chinese Citizen ID Card. |
